Untar inaugurated three new professors, Prof. Lina, S.T., M.Kom., Ph.D. from the Faculty of Information Technology (FTI), and Prof. Dr. Drs. Sawidji Widoatmodjo, S.E., M.M. and Prof. Dr. Ignatius Roni Setyawan, S.E., M.Si. from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).
The inauguration ceremony was led by the Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. on Wednesday (6/3) at the Auditorium of Untar Campus I and attended by the Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H. and representatives of Higher Education Service Institution Region III (LLDikti III).
On this occasion, the newly inaugurated professors delivered orations according to their fields of expertise. Lina who became a Professor of Informatics Engineering delivered an oration entitled “Beyond Tomorrow: Navigating the Future Landscape of Artificial Intelligence.”
Followed by Sawidji in the field of Economics with an oration entitled “Entrepreneurial Producers as a Renewal Strategy for Comparative Advantage to Realize Golden Indonesia.”
Meanwhile, Roni, who became a Professor of Management Science, presented an oration entitled “Optimizing Social Responsibility and Digital Responsibility of a CEO: Lessons from Elon Musk (Tesla).”
The Head of LLDikti III, represented by the Head of the Research and Community Service Working Group Adhy Purnama, S.E., M.M. stated that he was proud of Untar’s achievement in continuing to participate in encouraging its lecturers to reach the highest academic position.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation specifically gave appreciation to the three new professors. He hoped that the three professors could inspire other lecturers to follow in their footsteps.
When closing the event, the Rector of Untar advised that the newly inaugurated professors can continue to produce various works and support lecturers to obtain the academic position of professor.
“Professors must produce new professors, doctors must produce new doctors, that is our philosophy, so that Untar and other universities in Indonesia can produce many professors, and Untar becomes one of the leading universities in Indonesia,” he concluded.
Brief History of Education and Career
Prof. Lina, S.T., M.Kom., Ph.D.
Born in Padang on February 20, 1979, she took her bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering, FT Untar and continued her master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Indonesia. She earned her doctoral degree in Computer Science at Nagoya University – Japan through a Japanese Government scholarship (Monbukagakusho).
Besides working in the field of information technology, she is also one of the Global Faculty Scholars at Kauffman Foundation – USA for the Entrepreneurship program. Prof. Lina has held positions as Assistant Dean II of FTI Untar for the period 2010-2014. Head of Untar Secretariat for the period 2014-2016, and Vice Dean of FTI Untar for the period 2018-2022. Prof. Lina is the first Untar Informatics Engineering Undergraduate Program alumni to obtain the title of Professor of Informatics Engineering.
Prof. Dr. Drs. Sawidji Widoatmodjo, S.E., M.M.
Born in Sukoharjo on December 1, 1962, he took his undergraduate education at the Faculty of Economics, Gadjah Mada University, followed by Master of Management at IMNI College of Economics and M.B.A. at Newport International University. He earned two doctoral degrees from the Indonesian Institute of Business and Informatics (IBII) and Hasanuddin University.
Currently serving as Dean of FEB Untar, he also pursues a profession as a journalist and researcher. His research experience was gained when he became a Junior Researcher at the Center for Policy Studies (CPS), continued as an investment analyst at Erdika Securities, until now he is a GTZ Expert Pool, and CEO of ECBIS Rescons (Economic-Business Research & Consulting Service). He has written 25 best-selling books and thousands of articles in various media.
Prof. Dr. Ignatius Roni Setyawan, S.E., M.Si.
Born in Semarang on March 18, 1973, studied Bachelor of Management at Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta, Master of Management at Gadjah Mada University, and Doctor of Management at the University of Indonesia.
He has produced international journal articles Scopus, SINTA, and international book chapters. He has been awarded best presenter Malaysian Finance Association International Conference 2020, best reviewer Journal of Indonesian Economy and Business UGM (2022), Dikti PDUPT grant 2021-2023, and rank 8 SINTA Untar from November 2023 until now.
