The Central Board of Catholic Youth organized the 2023 Catholic Youth Scholars and Academics Conference, Sunday (17/12).

This activity was held in order to consolidate the Catholic Youth academic cadre cluster to welcome the 2024 General Election. In addition, this activity aims to be a place for deliberation of intellectuals, researchers, academics, social activists and national activists to dialogue to build optimism and constructive thoughts in order to welcome the 2024 election year and the big idea of Indonesia Emas 2045.

Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. as a practitioner of higher education was invited to present material with the title “Collaboration for the Sustainability of Government Programs on the Catholic Base”.

Prof. Agustinus explained the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which must be the concern of all components of the nation in carrying out development. In particular, it was emphasized that every citizen must contribute positively to the 2024 elections, make the right choice according to conscience, be committed to the 4 Pillars of the state, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, NKRI, Bhineka Tunggal Ika, prioritize national interests over personal and group interests, sustainability and equitable development, equitable shared prosperity and the active role of all citizens of the nation in sustainable national development.

This activity was attended by the Director General of Catholic Bimas, Drs. Suparman, S.E., M.Si. and a number of Catholic Youth leaders and scholars. (PA/API/KJ)
