Untar held the 12th International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Business Management (ICEBM) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), Central Java on Thursday (16/11). This activity is one of the implementations of Untar’s cooperation with UMS which was agreed upon last July.
This year, ICEBM was held together with Tunku Abdul Rahman University Malaysia, Kun Shan University Taiwan, Muhammadiyah University Surakarta, Bunda Mulia University Jakarta, and Mahasaraswati University Denpasar.
Themed “Strategic Entrepreneurship: Driving Innovation and Growth in the Digital Era”, the 12th ICEBM presented keynote speakers, including CEO and Co-Founder of Internet Plus Asia, Sri Lanka Dr. Mothilal De Silva, Director of B.A. Degree Program in Micro Business Management Kun Shan University Taiwan Dr. Linda Lin-Chin, and Professor of Hotelschool the Hague Netherlands Prof. Andriew Lim.
There was also a discussion session with Pro Vice Chancellor of INTI International University Malaysia Prof. Dr. Lai Yin Ling and Professor of Management UMS Prof. Dr. Anton Agus Setyawan, S.E., M.Si.
Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E. in his speech said that innovation is needed for entrepreneurs to compete, especially in the digital era. Rapid progress makes innovation not just an option, but a necessity.
“As the leading entrepreneurial campus in Indonesia, Untar strives to encourage innovation in entrepreneurship towards a bright future,” said the Rector.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Tarumanagara Foundation Vedrych J. Kusnanto, S.Kom., M.M. revealed that this conference is a manifestation of the entrepreneurship value that Untar has long embraced. He also said that this year’s ICEBM is a combination of views from the industrial and academic worlds.
ICEBM Committee Chairperson, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Untar Lecturer Dr. Hetty Karunia Tunjungsari stated that there were 160 journals presented. The journals came from Malaysia, Vietnam, the Netherlands, Australia, Nigeria, and Indonesia. (ZR/AW)
