Untar’s Center for Psychological Guidance and Consultation (PBKP) in collaboration with Rumah Edukasi held the Greenmech and Robotics 2023 National Training, Saturday (4/11) at the Untar Campus 1 Auditorium. This event presents the easiest, fastest, and most popular coding and robotics workshop in the world based on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).
Rumah Edukasi Director Mulia Anton said that this event was the result of a collaboration between Rumah Edukasi and Untar that has been going on since 2016. According to him, Untar has an important role in the history of STEAM-based learning development.
He hopes that Untar can continue to support coding and robotics learning activities in line with the Merdeka Belajar program launched by the Ministry of Education and Research.
Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E. hopes that this training can improve the competence and quality of education in their respective institutions.
According to Rector, this training is important because it is in accordance with the learning needs at each institution. Rector believes that students should be introduced early to the utilization of technology in daily life.
Opening the event, Head of PBKP Untar Meiske Yunithree Suparman, M.Psi, Psychologist said that this kind of training can continue to be developed. The training can be utilized by educators to prepare students to be ready to face the rapid development of technology, as an effort for Indonesia to achieve the Indonesia Emas 2045.
This training presents speakers from the STEAM-based Robot for Mission Project International Trainer & Jury Team who have succeeded in delivering the Indonesian team to become the World Champion of the Robot for Mission Competition.
In addition, socialization related to coding and robotics in the Merdeka Curriculum was also delivered by the Merdeka Curriculum Dr. Meilani Hartono.
The event was attended by 90 principals and teachers and lecturers throughout Indonesia and was held in order to welcome National Teacher’s Day which falls on November 25. (KJ/AW/KJ)
