Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E. became a guest speaker in the National Dialogue of National Catholic Pesparani III at Novotel Hotel, Jakarta, Monday (30/10).

The event themed “Uniting to Build Togetherness in Diversity to Strengthen Indonesian Character Based on Pancasila Values” was a collaborative event between Untar and LP3KN, Pesparani, and the Indonesian Catholic Lecturers Association (IKDKI).

Opening the event, Deputy for Coordination of Health Quality Improvement and Population Development of Kemenko PMK Ir. Y. B. Satya Sananugraha, M.Eng. said that in welcoming Indonesia Emas 2045, good human resources are needed.

According to him, human resources must have excellent competence and be supported by characters in accordance with Pancasila.

Rector in his session explained tips in creating excellent human resources with Pancasila character. He revealed, there are three things that need to be considered, namely the ability in science, skill, and attitude.

“Pancasila character is needed to face the challenges ahead,” said the Rector.

In addition, Rector also explained that he had implemented Pancasila character learning in the classroom.

“As educators, let us shape the nation’s children by providing Pancasila character learning in order to create superior graduates for Indonesia Emas 2045,” he said.

Also present as speakers at the event were musician and cultural artist Ivan Nestorman, Bina Nusantara University student Karina Moudy, and as the moderator, Untar Faculty of Psychology lecturer Dr. Raja Oloan Tumanggor, S.Ag.

Meanwhile, the second session featured Chairman of Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PDHI) Mayjen (Purn.) Wisnu Bawa Tenaya, Executive Secretary of the KWI Lay Apostolate Commission Romo Hans Jeharut, representative of Istiqlal Mosque Pdt. Dr. Mulawarman Hannase, Motivator Dr. (H.C) Ponijan Liaw, and Deputy Editor of HIDUP Magazine Hasiholan Siagian as moderator. (ZR/AW)
