The peak of Untar’s 64th anniversary was celebrated with fun walk and folk party, Saturday (14/10) at Untar Campus 1. Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) around Untar campus were invited, strengthening Untar as an entrepreneurial campus.
Untar’s 64th anniversary which themed “Global Impact through Quality Education” emphasizes Untar’s determination to play a role for Indonesia and the world. Therefore, Untar continues to improve itself to become a world-class university. This was conveyed by Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E., in his speech that marked the peak of the anniversary activities.
“Untar must be able to play a role for the world in order to have a wider impact. The improvement of strategic plan towards internationalization is important,” said Rector.
The internationalization of Untar is proven by the presence of foreign students studying at Untar. They come from Germany, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, and the Philippines. In the future, students from Japan, Australia, and the Netherlands plan to study at Untar.
Untar’s flagship program that has been highlighted internationally is research and entrepreneurship-based learning.
Lutz Poth from Hellborn University, Germany, who studied at Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, for one semester, said that being a student of Untar is the right choice as it provides a complete experience in academic and non-academic fields, with the opportunity to participate in many activities outside the classroom to add field experience.
Added by Yuan Yuan from Southwest University of Political Science & Law China as Doctor of Law student, said that the lecturers of the Faculty of Law Untar are very qualified and have practical experience.
Attended by the entire academic community, Higher Education Service Institute Region 3 Jakarta, representatives of West Jakarta Muspida, and partners, the 64th anniversary celebration of Untar was very festive and down-to-earth.
On this occasion, Rector expressed his gratitude for the collaborations and contributions that have been made by all academic community and all Untar’s partners, both at domestic and abroad, so that Untar can continue to build its reputation and provide quality higher education services in accordance with the needs of the community and the values developed at Untar, namely Integrity, Professionalism, and Entrepreneurship.
This year’s anniversary was filled with various activities. Previously, there had been a karawitan competition for high school students in Jabodetabek, friendly sports competition between faculties and Untar Partners, blood donation, Democracy Education Seminar for students as novice voters, student movies screening, international seminars and conferences, inter-high school vocal group competition, and Research Week.
