Improve Higher Education Public Relations Quality, Untar and Undana Strive for Indonesia Emas 2045

Untar Public Relations was visited by Public Relations Team of a Public University, Universitas Nusa Cendana (Undana), Kupang, NTT, Tuesday (13/9) at Untar Campus 1.

Coordinator of Undana Planning and Cooperation Division Imanuel Sadukh, S.H., M.Hum. stated that he wants to exchange experience with private universities, such as Untar that received Bronze Medal in Public Relations Indonesia Award (PRIA) 2023 on last March.

“We would like to know how Untar Public Relations works in managing public relations, starting from organizational structure and job distribution, to campus media channel and media relations management. The information we received from the mass media is Untar Public Relations received PRIA 2023 awards,” Sub Coordinator of Undana Public Relations and Cooperation Elizabeth C. Sabon Doni, S.E., M.M. said.

Head of Untar Public Relations Dra. Paula T. Anggarina, M.M., accompanied with Untar Public Relations staffs, explained on how Untar manages its public relations under the coordination of the highest leader, which is Rector.

According to her, media is one of Untar’s most valuable partners, therefore, a good communication must be built.

“Partnerships with media as one of the most important stakeholders are needed to be built. The established relations also needed to be preserved through good communications,” Paula said.

Paula also explained other duties that fall under Untar Public Relations’ functions, such as event and protocol management. Aside of that, in the current era, Public Relations must adapt to the advancement of information technology, such as utilizing the social media.

In the meeting, both parties agreed to strengthen collaboration in the field of public relations and other fields beneficial for both institutions. Collaborations between university public relations needed to be built further. Untar is open to collaborate with various universities in Indonesia in order to produce quality human resources for Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) 2045.

“Through public relations, a university could impact the society, as public relations is identical to information sharing. This could be done through student and lecturer work publications, as a speaker in various media as a contribution to educate the nation for Indonesia Emas 2045. (YS/AW)
