Architecture Study Program of Faculty of Engineering (FT) Untar once again held an exhibition of Public Expose (PE) compilation, Thursday (10/8) at Campus I Untar.

Themed “Empathic Architecture To Live The User’s Life”, Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E. hoped that PE 8.35 could be a direction for architectural design that refers to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Untar encourages architectural designs in SDGs that provide solutions to the problems of sanitation, decent living, and other sustainable problems in Indonesia and the world,” said the Rector of Untar.

In her speech, Head of Architecture Bachelor Program Maria Veronica Gandha, S.T., M.Arch. said that the Public Expose featured 25 best works from the final project of the 2019 batch.

Maria hoped that this exhibition could be the beginning of the students’ future success and foray into Indonesian architecture.

CO Associates Alumni Untar Founder Calvian Oscar and Studio ArsitektropiS Founder and Principal Architect Ren Katili as judges of Public Expose 8.35 appointed seven of the exhibited student works for presentation.

The two judges selected the three best works that illustrate empathetic architecture. The first winner was “Alzheimer’s Village” by Sebastian Joe, a work that designed a container and memory therapy for Alzheimer’s sufferers. The second winner was “The last Land & Its Myth” by Jovano Nathanael and the third winner was “The Mourning Mothers” by Cynthia. (VW/AW)
