Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. visited eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic and the Manpower, Transmigration, Cooperatives, and SMEs Office of West Manggarai Regency, Wednesday (7/6).
The visit was conducted in order to conduct socialization and counseling related to entrepreneurship to the people of Labuan Bajo who have MSMEs.
Rector of Untar said that the collaboration between Untar and the local government is expected to be Untar’s positive contribution in developing Indonesia, doing many useful things for the people of Labuan Bajo Regency.
“Previously, we have done an MoU with the Regent of Labuan Bajo and it is hoped that through this, Untar can contribute to Indonesia through the existing local government. This is also in line with Untar’s tagline, Untar for Indonesia,” he said.
The briefing was conducted by the Publication Manager of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) Dr. Hetty Karunia Tunjungsari, S.E., M.Si. and Head of Public Relations Paula T. Anggarina M.M. Both recommended the use of technology and social media in promoting their MSMEs.
“If our friends need our help in promoting their MSMEs through social media, we will help by collaborating with each other,” said Dr. Hetty.
One of the participants, Ertha, the owner of a typical Labuan Bajo souvenir business called Konoma, said that the collaboration program between Untar and Polteknik eLBajo is something that really helps the surrounding community.
She admitted that the material presented helped her take advantage of digitalization in this modern era, helping her to make MSMEs more classy,” said Ertha.
During the event, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was also signed for the development of MSMEs in Labuan Bajo. The MoU was carried out to assist the local community in improving the quality of human resources in West Manggarai Regency.
Head of the West Manggarai Manpower Office drh. Theresia Primadona Asmon appreciated Untar for the training for the people of West Manggarai. Hopefully, the collaboration will continue and give real benefits. (DW/AW)
