Untar is hosting the GreenMech and Robot for Mission (R4M) National Competition for elementary, junior high, and high school levels on May 27 and 28, 2023.

Collaborating with Rumah Edukasi, the competition is expected to provide understanding and application of STEAM concepts (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) to Indonesia’s young generation.

As the host, Rector Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. said that Untar always gives the best for education in creating superior human resources. Rector hopes that this competition can create superior human resources.

The GreenMech and R4M competitions combine scientific principles with STEAM concepts in the learning and development of participants. Participants are expected to implement their knowledge in producing green mechanisms (GreenMech) and robots for specific missions (Robot for Mission) that benefit the environment and society.

Plt. Head of the National Achievement Center Ir. Hendraman, M.Sc., Ph.D. said that this competition is an extraordinary opportunity for participants to expand their network, share experiences, and compete with participants from other regions.

The competition was attended by 50 students from elementary, junior high, and high school levels. Participants came from various parts of Indonesia, including West Java, Central Java, East Java, North Sumatra, and North Sulawesi. (SC/AW)
