“In particular, we contribute to higher education by producing works of research, community service, and publications,” said the Rector in his speech.
Dr. M. Rizal in his session argued that despite the threat of global economic recession, the Indonesian economy is still quite resilient and strong.
In addition to being supported by the agricultural and mining sectors, the Indonesian economy also has economic foundations and fundamentals that are able to grow an impressive economy.
However, according to him, Indonesia needs economic acceleration based on structural improvements and strong fundamentals as well as optimization of infrastructure such as toll roads. Toll roads or other infrastructure are beneficial for economic efficiency and can eliminate price differences between regions in Indonesia.
Similarly, Drs. Muh. Yusri also argued that one of the strategies for economic development and regional value chains in Indonesia is to accelerate infrastructure development and strengthen regional competitiveness.
According to him, infrastructure is able to open access to every island in Indonesia, and eliminate the cost inequity between regions that has been demanded by the Indonesian people for a long time.
The seminar was attended by nine universities, including Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta, Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya, Universitas Pancasila, Universitas Bunda Mulia, Universitas Trisakti, Universitas Udayana Bali, Universitas Mercubuana, and Untar. (YI/AW)
