Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) Untar held IO Festival on Thursday (25/5) at Auditorium Campus I Untar. IO Festival is an annual national competition in the framework of FTI’s Anniversary which was attended by 45 high school students and 87 female students from universities throughout Indonesia.

IO Festival Chief Executive Muhamad Najwa revealed that the theme “Spark A Culture of Creativity with Technology” is expected to inspire and encourage the development of a culture of creativity in technology.

Dean of FTI Prof. Dr. Dyah Erny Herwindiati, M.Si. in her speech hoped that this anniversary would make FTI Untar a pioneer that inspires young people as the superior generation of the future.

Present as the guest of honor, Principal Expert of the Presidential Staff Office of the Republic of Indonesia R. Wandy Tuturoong revealed that competitions like this are very important to bring inspiration for campus dynamics and are extraordinary provisions for the future.

“IO Festival will be a trendsetter for universities and high schools. Keep innovating, because innovation is a solution,” Wandy said.

IO Festival this time contested UI/UX (university level), WebDev (university level), Business Plan (university level), WebDev (school level), and UI/UX (school level).

During its 21 years of existence, FTI Untar has achieved “A” accreditation from BAN-PT, and received IABEE international recognition in the Informatics Engineering Study Program. (DW/YS/AW)
