Students must possess good character and keep on developing themselves. To become a successful person, one must obtain three things, which are knowledge, skill, and attitude. Those three things have to be utilized simultaneously, not only one of them.
That was the statement of Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng. in front of students during New Student Admission Year 2022 which was held offline at Untar campus, Wednesday (10/8) to Friday (12/8).
On the other hand, Rector once more emphasized the implementation of MBKM at Untar. Through MBKM programs, students are expected to be more actively involved in learning activities at Untar, while also obtain achievements from various fields.
“Untar has conducted all MBKM activities and awarded as the best MBKM Implementation in LLDIKTI III Jakarta,” said Rector.
New Student Admission 2022 was held for three days and attended by speakers such as Indonesian National Army (TNI AD) Inspectorate General Lt. Gen. TNI Richard Tampubolon, S.H., M.H., Commander of 1st Marine Force Brig. Gen. TNI (Mar) Dr. Hermanto, S.E., M.M., CSBA, and Commander of 052/Wijayakrama Military Resort Command Brig. Gen. TNI Rano Maxim Adolf Tilaar, S.E.
Let. Gen. TNI Richard Tampubolon, S.H., M.H. said that the national heroes have fought with independence as their motivation. Students must also fight with nation continuity and strategic nationality knowledge as their motivation, to support national development.
He reminded students to not lose their spirit of nationalism amidst the advancement of democratization and globalization. He added, through good character development, students could be the heroes of themselves, their families, and Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. TNI (Mar) Dr. Hermanto, S.E., M.M., CSBA stated that aside of knowledge, students must have nationalism mentality such as loyalty or high devotion to the nation.
On the other hand, Brig. Gen. TNI Rano Maxim Adolf Tilaar, S.E. said that armed with a strong personality and national ideology, younger generation will be able to resist religious radicalism and extremism, as well as transnational ideologies such as individualism or liberalism.
New Student Admission 2022 carries the theme “Untar for Indonesia: Reinforcement of Student Capacity to Support National Development” and becomes the welcoming celebration for new students, whom will start their hybrid learning on upcoming 22nd of August. Aside from seminars from the speakers, other activities were also carried out, such as campus environment orientation, and introduction of students, lecturers, and other Academic Community. -SS-
