Being a university student is not merely about completing an education and earning a degree. It is also a journey of continuous learning, personal growth, character development, and ultimately, becoming someone who can make a meaningful contribution to others.

This message was delivered by Director of Health Service Assurance (Yankes) at BPJS Kesehatan dr. Abdi Kurniawan Purba, Sp.Ak(K), Subsp.Ak-AA(K), MH.Kes, MKM, AIFO-K, Ph.D., while speaking to new students on the third day of PKKMB Untar 2026, held at Untar Campus I, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026).

In his presentation titled “Navigating University Life: From an Ordinary Student to an Impactful Individual,” Abdi encouraged students to remain consistent, dare to try new things, and not be afraid of mistakes or failure.

He emphasized that the student journey involves a continuous process of starting, learning, growing, and ultimately making an impact. Therefore, students should continue learning, improving themselves, and striving to become individuals who bring value to others.

“Bukan tentang seberapa cepat kita sampai, tetapi tentang menjadi siapa kita setelah perjalanan ini,” pesannya.

Carrying the theme “Embrace the Adventure of Endless Possibilities: Move Beyond Expectation,” PKKMB Untar 2026 marks an important first step for new students in becoming familiar with university life, developing their potential, and making the most of the various opportunities available throughout their studies at Untar.

In line with this message, Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., also encouraged students to go beyond expectations by stepping outside their comfort zones, trying new things, and learning from failure. He also highlighted the importance of maintaining mental well-being and making use of the counseling services and support from faculty members available at Untar.

“During their studies at Untar, students are expected to uphold the values of integrity, professionalism, and entrepreneurship. Be individuals who are open to collaboration, courageous in innovation, and committed to lifelong learning so that you can make meaningful contributions to the nation,” he said.

Having begun on Wednesday (12/8/2026), PKKMB Untar 2026 will conclude with the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia Commemoration Ceremony on Monday (17/8/2026) at Untar Campus II. (CS/YS) (CS/YS)
