The Faculty of Information Technology (FTI) at Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) held a graduation ceremony (Yudisium) for prospective graduates of the Informatics Engineering and Information Systems Study Programs on Wednesday (8/7/2026) at Untar Campus I. The event marked the completion of the students’ academic journey while signifying the beginning of their professional careers as technology practitioners committed to making meaningful contributions to society.

FTI Untar Dean Prof. Lina, S.T., M.Kom., Ph.D. emphasized that the Yudisium is more than a graduation ceremony—it is an opportunity to reflect on the long journey students have undertaken throughout their studies.

“Time has passed so quickly. Today marks the end of your journey and years of hard work during your studies, while also becoming the beginning of your return to society with new knowledge, skills, and a different way of thinking,” she said.

She expressed her confidence that the graduates would become future technology innovators capable of addressing the challenges of tomorrow.

“Wherever you work or pursue your aspirations, always remember that members of the Untar Information Technology community must uphold the values of integrity, professionalism, and entrepreneurship while creating innovations that have a tangible impact on society,” she concluded.

During the event, graduate representative Rafel Sutra Dharma delivered remarks on behalf of the graduating class. He expressed gratitude for the academic journey he shared with lecturers, educational staff, and fellow students.

According to Rafel, studying at FTI Untar not only strengthened students’ competencies in information technology but also taught them the importance of collaboration, adaptability, and a lifelong commitment to learning in response to the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

“We believe that the education and experiences provided by Untar have built a strong foundation for us to continue creating, innovating, and making meaningful contributions to society and the industry,” he said.

The event also featured presentations on various programs designed to support graduates’ career development, including Untar Career, Untar Tracer Study, the Master of Information Technology Program, the Master of Management Program, and the Master of Civil Engineering Program.

The graduation ceremony also featured an Inspirational Speech session delivered by two distinguished international academics: Head of the Information System Program at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), Prof. Chadi Aoun, and CMU-Q Professor Prof. Savanid (Nui) Vatanasakdakul, who is recognized as the first Thai woman to attain the rank of professor in the field of Information Systems in both Australia and Qatar.

Both speakers are widely recognized for their significant contributions to the advancement of information systems on the global stage. Drawing from their extensive academic and professional experience, they shared their career journeys, academic insights, and words of encouragement, inspiring graduates to continue growing and confidently embrace the opportunities and challenges of the digital era.

In her speech, Prof. Nui encouraged graduates to continuously develop themselves, push beyond their limits, and leverage technology to create solutions for future challenges.

“Technology will continue to evolve, but the greatest impact always comes from people who never stop learning, build collaborations across disciplines, and use their knowledge to solve real-world problems. Keep growing, never be afraid to push beyond your limits, and use technology to create a positive impact on society,” she said.

Through the event, FTI Untar reaffirmed its commitment to producing graduates who possess not only strong academic and technical competencies but also the character, adaptability, and innovative mindset needed to address the evolving challenges of technological advancement. (CS/YS)
