The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Tarumanagara, in collaboration with Martha Tilaar Group, successfully held a seminar titled “Glow Economy: Beautypreneurs Take the Lead” at Building L, Campus I of Universitas Tarumanagara, on Tuesday (19/5/2026).
The seminar, attended by students, was initiated to ignite entrepreneurial enthusiasm and encourage young people to pursue their passions in the beauty industry and transform them into real business ventures.
The event opened with remarks from Vice Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara, Assoc. Prof. Sri Tiatri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., Psikolog, who expressed her appreciation for the successful implementation of this strategic collaboration. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of strengthening synergy between the Business and Industrial Sectors (DUDI) and higher education institutions. Through programs such as this, students not only gain theoretical knowledge in the classroom but also receive valuable practical insights directly from leading industry practitioners, helping them prepare for future challenges in both the professional and entrepreneurial worlds.
The seminar featured prominent speakers and founders of popular local beauty brands, including the CEO of Martha Tilaar Group, Dr. Kilala Tilaar.
During his presentation, Dr. Kilala Tilaar highlighted the rapid growth of Indonesia’s cosmetics and personal care industry, which presents significant opportunities for young entrepreneurs. According to him, innovation combined with a strong understanding of the market is the key for local beautypreneurs to lead the domestic market and compete on the international stage.
“Building a beauty brand in the modern era is not merely about selling products, but about creating value, maintaining consistency of vision, and generating a positive impact on society,” the panelists remarked during the highly engaging interactive discussion.
Through this seminar, FEB Untar reaffirmed its commitment to providing educational platforms that bridge academia and industry, with the aim of producing graduates who not only excel academically but also possess leadership qualities and an entrepreneurial mindset that can adapt to the demands of a rapidly evolving world.
