The Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Untar, in collaboration with La Trobe University, held a guest lecture titled Transforming Care for Older Adults on Friday (12/6/2026). The event, conducted both onsite at Campus I of Untar and online via Zoom, featured Prof. Irene Blackberry, Ph.D. as the keynote speaker.

The event was opened by Dr. dr. N. Saelan Tadjudin, Sp.KJ., who emphasized the importance of strengthening knowledge and international collaboration in addressing the challenges of healthcare services for the rapidly growing elderly population.

“This activity is part of FK Untar’s efforts to expand its academic network while enhancing the quality of education and research in the field of geriatrics,” said dr. Saelan.

In her presentation, Prof. Irene Blackberry discussed various innovative approaches to transforming healthcare services for older adults, including the importance of patient-centered care, integrated healthcare services, and strengthening the role of healthcare professionals in supporting the quality of life of the elderly.

The guest lecture was moderated by dr. Paskalis Andrew Gunawan and attended by students, lecturers, healthcare professionals, and members of the public from various regions. Through this event, FK Untar and La Trobe University hope to encourage the development of elderly healthcare services that are more adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable. (VC/YS)
