Untar hosted the opening ceremony of the 2024 Jakarta Regional Student Arts Week (Peksimida DKI Jakarta) on Wednesday (10/7/2024) at Hall B-C, Untar Campus II. Peksimida DKI Jakarta is an arts competition event involving students from universities across Jakarta. Untar served as the venue for the painting and pop singing competitions. This year’s event carried the theme “Merdeka Berprestasi, Talenta Seni Menginspirasi” (Freedom to Achieve, Artistic Talents Inspire). The event was officially opened by the Head of the Jakarta Chapter of the Indonesian Student Arts Development Board (BPSMI), Badrul Munir, Ph.D.

In his welcoming remarks, the Head of BPSMI DKI Jakarta shared his positive impression of Untar, describing the campus as compact, neat, and well-organized. He also expressed his admiration for the event’s organization.

Meanwhile, Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., ASEAN Eng., welcomed all participants to the campus. “To those who are visiting Untar for the first time, welcome to Untar. Hopefully, this campus can provide inspiration for all of you,” he said.

The Rector also emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between academic and non-academic activities throughout university life.

Peksimida DKI Jakarta 2024 featured 15 competition categories, including dangdut singing, seriosa singing, keroncong singing, pop singing, vocal group performances, poetry reading, monologue, dance, short story writing, scriptwriting, poetry writing, social campaign media design, painting, comic strips, and photography.

The event was also attended by Chair of the Peksimida 2024 Organizing Committee Dr. Drs. A. G. Sudibyo and Head of the Institute for Student Affairs and Alumni of Untar, Dr. Adianto, M.Sc. (LA/YS/KJ)
