Students of Untar once again achieved remarkable success at the Indonesia Inventors Day (IID) 2025, held from 11–14 September at the SMESCO Exhibition Hall, South Jakarta.
IID 2025 carried the theme “Innovating for a Better Tomorrow: Harnessing the Power of Creativity and Collaboration to Develop Transformative Solutions for a Resilient and Thriving World.” The international event served as a platform for innovators, researchers, and students to showcase their inventions, expand collaborations, and attract the interest of local and international investors.
Winning Awards at WINTEX
Students from Untar’s Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering Study Programs earned several awards in the World Invention and Technology Expo (WINTEX) category, which was part of IID 2025.
From the Mechanical Engineering Study Program, student projects received the following recognitions:

Smart 4 Wheel Walker Portable — Silver Award (Jonathan Arendra Lie, Vhial Leekardo, Dwi Ardyan Mustofiana, Reyvaldo; supervisor Dr. Ir. Steven Darmawan, S.T., M.T.).

PET Recycle — Gold Award & Best Green Innovation Award (team leader Rayland Alexander; members Han Han, Bryan Andrew, Nicholas Jayaputra; supervisor Didi Widya Utama, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.).

TRACE — Bronze Award (team leader Christian Hartono; members Rifqi Andika Putra, George Jocewen Lie, Lim Bryant Hasim; supervisor Ir. M. Sobron Yamin Lubis, M.Sc., Ph.D.).

AdaptaWheel — Honorable Mention (team leader Gabriel Chan; members Muhammad Fauzan, Louis Pascal, Salma Khaula Bazla; supervisor Ir. Harto Tanujaya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.).
Meanwhile, students from the Industrial Engineering Study Program also secured notable achievements:

Sustainable Eco Multifunction Nightstand (WG3) — Silver Medal (team leader Stephen Thiodinata; members Rafilia Vita Liveani Pertiwi, Ivan).

Foldable Shade Seat (WG4) — Bronze Medal (team leader Angelina Dominique da Gomez; members Vanessa Sutanto, Maria Oktavia Mako).

Heatflow Bottle (WG5) — Finalist (team leader Celine Gracia Christano; members Jaka Pertaka, Frannata).
Making Indonesia Proud
Supervisor and Secretary of Untar’s Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Didi Widya Utama, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the achievements. “Participation and success in this competition demonstrate that Untar students are capable of competing on a global level. The innovations they have developed are not merely inventions but also practical solutions that can benefit society,” he said.
IID 2025 brought together participants from various countries through a series of exhibitions, international seminars, judging sessions, and an awards ceremony. The involvement of Untar students marked an important milestone in demonstrating the contribution of Indonesian higher education institutions to innovations with global impact. (VC/YS)
