Rector of Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M. welcomed a visit from the Perkumpulan Industri Kendaraan Listrik Indonesia (Periklindo) as part of discussions exploring potential cooperation and collaborative programs in the electric vehicle industry. The meeting took place on Wednesday (28/01/2026) at Campus I Untar.

The visit aimed to support the development of the electric vehicle industry through discussions on collaboration opportunities in human resource development, research, and technical training involving technicians from China. The cooperation will focus on synergy with relevant faculties and study programs, namely Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, to enhance the competencies of Untar students and academic community members in preparation for future industry demands.

In his remarks, Rector Untar expressed appreciation for Periklindo’s visit and welcomed the opportunity for collaboration that could provide practical learning experiences for students.

“Untar is highly open to collaboration with industry, particularly in the electric vehicle sector, which has become one of the key focuses of future technological development. We hope this cooperation can provide tangible benefits in improving the quality of education, research, and innovation,” he stated.

In line with the Rector’s remarks, Periklindo Advisory Board member Dr. Hendra Noor Saleh and Secretary General Tenggono Chuandra Phoa emphasized that collaboration between universities and industry is essential in producing globally competitive human resources.

“Through this partnership, we aim to encourage the transfer of knowledge, technology, and direct industrial experience to the academic sector, enabling university graduates to be better prepared to enter the electric vehicle industry,” they stated.

Continuing the discussion, Periklindo representatives also expressed openness toward Untar students and alumni interested in working and becoming directly involved in the industrial field under Periklindo.

During the meeting, Periklindo was accompanied by a delegation from Bricks Institute consisting of James Shen as President of Bricks Institute, Aswen S. Utomo and Raymond Weng as Directors, as well as Zheng Jinzhong as Venture Mentor. The presence of these delegates is expected to strengthen opportunities for international collaboration, particularly in technical training, applied research, and innovation development within the electric vehicle industry.

The meeting is expected to serve as an initial step toward establishing a strategic partnership between Untar and Periklindo in supporting the development of the electric vehicle industry through education, research, innovation, and the strengthening of higher education’s role in preparing industry-ready human resources.
