Indonesia’s vision of becoming a “Golden Indonesia 2045” can only be realized if its younger generation is healthy, resilient, productive, and free from drugs. Universities therefore play a strategic role in safeguarding the quality of the nation’s future human resources.
The message was delivered by Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), Police Commissioner General Dr. (H.C.) Suyudi Ario Seto, S.I.K., S.H., M.Si., during his keynote address at Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) 87th Graduation Ceremony held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Saturday (May 16, 2026). A total of 2,576 graduates from undergraduate, professional, master’s, and doctoral programs were officially conferred degrees during the ceremony.

Delivering a speech titled “The Strategic Role of Young Generation in Realizing Golden Indonesia 2045,” the BNN chief emphasized that the threat of narcotics not only harms individuals but also weakens the quality of the nation’s future generations.
“Golden Indonesia 2045 can only be achieved if the younger generation is healthy, resilient, productive, technologically capable, and free from drugs,” he stated before thousands of graduates and guests.
According to him, young people must act as agents of change by promoting anti-drug education, becoming digital literacy advocates through the dissemination of positive content, and serving as problem solvers capable of addressing social issues within society.

Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., in his remarks, said university graduates today are expected to remain adaptive amid rapid technological developments and constantly shifting global dynamics. Higher education institutions, he noted, are not only responsible for producing academically excellent graduates, but also individuals with strong character and social awareness.
“To all graduates — from undergraduate, master’s, to doctoral levels — you represent Untar’s commitment to producing outstanding human resources with integrity, ready to compete at both national and international levels,” he affirmed.
The 87th Untar Graduation Ceremony was also attended by Head of Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Region III under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Dr. Henri Togar Hasiholan Tambunan, S.E., M.A. In his speech, he reminded graduates that education should not stop at academic achievement alone, but must be translated into concrete actions that create positive impacts for society.

Beyond the academic procession, this year’s graduation ceremony also showcased the cultural heritage of Lampung under the theme “Move Beyond in the Spirit of Sakai Sambayan.” The cultural atmosphere was highlighted through the performance of the “Muli Sambaian” dance by students of the Faculty of Psychology through the Padmanagara Extracurricular Unit. The tradition reflected the university’s commitment to preserving Indonesia’s cultural heritage. (VC/YS) (VC/YS)
