Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) held a ceremony to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at Campus II Untar on Sunday (17/08/2025). The Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., served as the Ceremony Inspector in the event, which also marked the culmination of the 2025 Student Orientation Program (Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru / PKKMB) at Untar.

The ceremony was solemnly conducted with the participation of thousands of new students, the Untar academic community, as well as local government and security representatives, including the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and Military District Command 0503 West Jakarta. The atmosphere grew even more vibrant with a performance by the Tarumanagara University Choir (PSUT). Also in attendance were international students from Heilbronn University, Germany, who are currently participating in a student exchange program at Untar’s Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB).

In his address, the Rector emphasized the vital role of the younger generation in filling independence with the spirit of creativity and achievement.

“Today, our responsibility is to honor independence through creativity and achievement. By upholding the values of Integrity, Professionalism, and Entrepreneurship (IPE), this new academic year is like a blank page ready for you to fill. Begin your studies with the same spirit as the heroes who fought for independence,” he conveyed.

Furthermore, the Rector emphasized that Indonesia’s future success will be greatly determined by the quality of its young generation. Therefore, Untar students are expected to become active, creative, and integrity-driven individuals.

This year’s ceremony carried the national theme “United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia.” This spirit of nationalism aligns with Untar’s commitment to nurturing graduates of strong character, competitiveness, and the ability to make real contributions to the nation and society.

As the culmination of Untar’s 2025 PKKMB, which had been held since Wednesday (August 13, 2025), this event closed the series of new student welcoming activities with a strong message of responsibility, leadership, and love for the homeland.
