“Don’t hesitate to join competitions, even if you feel unprepared. Competing is not just about winning, but about training your critical thinking, teamwork, and mental resilience in facing challenges,” said Steven Delon Herjana, a student of the Bachelor of Business Management Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Untar, as he began sharing the inspiring story behind his team’s victory.

Steven, along with his two teammates, Chelsea Elysia and Jimmy Sanjaya, brought pride to Untar by winning 1st Place in the Economic Fair category at the Budi Luhur National Competition (BLNC) 2025. The final round of the competition was held on July 23, 2025, and was attended by students from various universities across Indonesia. This year, BLNC carried the overarching theme: “Economic Stabilization and Price Dynamics in the Context of the Indonesia–EAEU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).”

In the competition, participants were challenged to develop strategic and practical ideas related to global economic issues and free trade. The team from FEB Untar stood out for their strong analytical approach and creative, contextually relevant solutions addressing the current dynamics of Indonesia’s economy.

“We started by deeply understanding the theme, then held brainstorming sessions to come up with original and relevant ideas. The toughest challenge actually came from time management due to our academic workload. But with strong commitment and discipline toward the tight schedule we created ourselves, we managed to complete everything successfully,” Steven explained.

This victory is not only an academic achievement but also concrete proof that FEB Untar students can compete in the national economic discourse. This success underscores the importance of cross-idea collaboration and confidence in bringing innovation into the public arena.

Steven also expressed his appreciation for the support from the university, which he considers to have played a significant role in this achievement.

“To my friends at FEB Untar, don’t be afraid to try. We all have the potential to shine. Take advantage of the support from our lecturers and campus environment. We can compete and excel at the national level,” he encouraged.

Through this achievement, FEB Untar reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically excellent but also adaptive, collaborative, and ready to tackle global economic challenges professionally and ethically.
