The annual art and design festival RupaReka came to life with renewed spirit under the theme “Artnaval,” a creative showcase by students of the Faculty of Art and Design at Universitas Tarumanagara (FSRD Untar). Organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FSRD Untar, RupaReka 2025 was held over three days, from June 2 to June 4, 2025, at the Selasar and T-Space of Building M, Campus I Untar.

This year, RupaReka, which has been held consistently for 19 years, embraced a more collaborative and open concept. The event not only showcased works by active students but also featured alumni portfolios through the launch of an ArtMagazine. The main exhibition this year partnered with the Tarumanagara Photography Association (PFT) student organization, highlighting cross-disciplinary collaboration as a key focus of RupaReka 2025.

The festival’s agenda included a variety of activities, ranging from inspiring workshops and talkshows to a Food and Beverage (FnB) area and an Art Market open to the public. These events aimed to create an interactive and appreciative space where visitors could directly enjoy design, fine arts, and photography works produced by the students.

This event is also part of the Entrepreneurship course project at FSRD Untar, involving close collaboration between students and lecturers in its implementation. This demonstrates how art can serve as a practical medium for entrepreneurial learning.

The Chairperson of RupaReka 2025, Sidratul Muntaha, expressed her hope that this activity will continue to be a space for expression and publication of works by FSRD students and alumni.

“This event has been held annually for a long time. I hope that through this event, students and alumni can continuously showcase their design results and works so that the skills and talents of FSRD Untar graduates become more widely recognized by the public,” she said.

With a spirit of sharing works and building creative networks, RupaReka 2025 successfully attracted the attention of students, lecturers, and the general public who enjoyed the innovative art and design offerings. This festival stands as a tangible proof of Untar’s commitment to encouraging student creative potential through relevant and impactful mediums.
