Senior Indonesian stock investor Lo Kheng Hong was a speaker at the Panel Discussion and Awarding Ceremony held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Untar campus auditorium. Also featured as keynote speakers were BestStockPick Founder Chris Apriliony, S.T., CSA, CTA, and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Untar, Prof. Dr. Sawidji Widoatmodjo, S.E., M.M., M.B.A.
This event marked the closing of the Simulation & Capital Market Investment Competition (SIPM) 2025 series, held in commemoration of the 66th anniversary of the Tarumanagara Foundation.
The discussion, moderated by Helios Capital Founder and FEB Untar lecturer Dr. Hadi Cahyadi, S.E., M.B.A., was attended by Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., and Secretary of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board Vedrych J. Kusnanto, S.Kom., M.M.
In his speech, Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro emphasized the importance of learning experiences from trusted sources to enhance students’ understanding of finance and investment.

“I believe this event can be very beneficial for the participants, especially the students. Through this event, they can gain direct insights into finance and investment from practitioners who are experts in the field. I also see this as an introduction for students to invest wisely and safely,” he said.
Don’t Be Tempted by Quick Profits
In his presentation, Lo Kheng Hong emphasized that students should not be easily swayed by promises of quick profits and highlighted the importance of patience in investing.

“If you want to invest, for example in the stock exchange, it takes time and cannot be instant. I came here to speak to the younger generation to share my experience. I hope the material I provide can serve as valuable learning for all the students,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Chris Apriliony also reminded the audience about the dangers of illegal investments and the importance of equipping oneself with strong knowledge. Early understanding of stocks and investments like this is highly beneficial for the younger generation as preparation for their future.

On the other hand, Sawidji Widoatmodjo emphasized the importance of values in investing, not merely the pursuit of profit. “Investment should not be solely about seeking profit, but also reflect the investor’s values and life purpose,” he explained.

The discussion was held with high enthusiasm, as participants actively asked questions and engaged in dialogue with the speakers. The event culminated in an Awarding Ceremony, honoring the winners of the capital market simulation competition.
