Students from Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) participated in the Winter Programme in Entrepreneurship, held from January 5–12, 2025. This program was initiated by the Tarumanagara Foundation in collaboration with National University of Singapore (NUS) Enterprise, as well as Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) and Universitas Indonesia (UI).
With the theme “Startup Ecosystem Exposure 2025: Indonesia (SEE Indonesia 2025),” this program was designed to introduce both local and international students to the business ecosystem in emerging markets, particularly in the ASEAN region. Throughout the program, participants had the opportunity to meet entrepreneurs, understand market trends, and embrace the spirit of entrepreneurship. This year, Indonesia was selected as the host country for the program.
The Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., appreciated the participation of Untar students in this program, considering it aligned with Untar’s commitment to providing students with global experiences.
“Participation in this program demonstrates Untar’s commitment to preparing students to become future leaders who are competent at the international level. Through cross-cultural interactions and collaboration, students can broaden their perspectives, build global networks, and enhance their entrepreneurial skills,” said Prof. Amad.
He also emphasized that this program is part of Untar’s internationalization vision, which continues to be promoted through academic collaboration, research, and other skill development activities.
The event, attended by 200 students from 20 universities in Singapore and Indonesia, was officially closed by the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., at the Untar Auditorium on Sunday, January 12, 2025. The closing ceremony was also attended by NUS President, Prof. Tan Eng Chye; Head of LLDikti Region III, Prof. Dr. Toni Toharudin, S.Si., M.Sc.; and Untar Rector, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro.
In his speech, Prof. Ariawan highlighted the key values that participants gain through this program.
“The SEE Indonesia 2025 program not only provides academic knowledge but also hands-on experience in facing real-world entrepreneurial challenges. Interacting with industry leaders, policymakers, and startup founders offers valuable insights into the ever-evolving business landscape,” he stated.
He also encouraged participants to continue driving innovation and creating a lasting impact in the future.
In addition to activities at Untar, participants from various universities, including NUS, Untar, UI, ITB, Universitas Gadjah Mada, ITS Surabaya, Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, and Institut Tarumanagara (Itaru), also had the opportunity to visit the UI and ITB campuses in Bandung.
This program provides participants with hands-on experience in understanding the core concepts of entrepreneurship, exploring innovation ecosystems, identifying business opportunities, and building cross-cultural connections with local communities. Through various activities, including hackathon sessions, participants are encouraged to develop innovative solutions.
With the experience and networks gained, this program is expected to serve as a stepping stone for participants to seize new opportunities at both local and global levels. (VC/YS/AJ/VC)
