Tarumanagara University (Untar) was among the higher education institutions invited to a gathering and panel discussion hosted by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, on Thursday (March 13, 2025).
Untar Rector, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., along with the Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., represented Untar at the event held at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta.
The event invited hundreds of rectors from Private Universities (PTS), State Universities (PTN), religious higher education institutions, and higher education service institutions (LLDT). Additionally, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek), Brian Yuliarto, along with his Deputy, Stella Christie, and several other ministers related to education and innovation policies were also present.

In this meeting, the President and his team discussed the vision and government programs that have been implemented, are currently underway, and will be carried out in the next five years. This discussion served as a strategic moment to strengthen synergy between the government and higher education institutions in building a more advanced Indonesia.
The Rector of Untar appreciates the invitation from the President of Indonesia and emphasizes that this discussion reflects the government’s understanding of the crucial role universities play as pillars of the nation’s progress.
“It can be achieved through industrial development by enhancing the quality of human resources, as well as various research and innovations in science and technology that align with the evolving needs and global challenges ahead,” he stated.
This open dialogue invitation further strengthens the commitment of universities, including Untar, to establishing world-class academic institutions. This initiative also serves as a concrete strategy to build a progressive, competitive Indonesia that is innovation-driven and focused on sustainable development.
