The Faculty of Communication Studies (Fikom) Untar celebrated its 19th Anniversary with the theme “Fostering Synergy, Moving Forward Together.” The event took place at the Main Building, Untar Campus I, on Friday (August 22, 2025).
The event was attended by Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., representatives of the Tarumanagara Foundation led by Vedrych J. Kusnanto, S.Kom., M.M., Tarumanagara Foundation Trustee Eduard Tjahjadi, Dipl. Ing., deans from various faculties, as well as heads of institutions at Untar.
The Dean of Fikom Untar, Dr. Riris Loisa, M.Si., in her remarks stated that Fikom Untar not only offers undergraduate programs but also launched a master’s program last year to further advance studies in the field of communication. “Fikom Untar has also prepared itself to make improvements toward internationalization,” she said.

Rector of Untar, Prof. Amad Sudiro, also expressed his appreciation for Fikom’s achievements as it reaches its 19th year. “We hope that Fikom will continue to grow rapidly, be able to pursue international accreditation, and further develop its master’s program with strong quality assurance. The university greatly appreciates innovations and advancements, both academic and non-academic,” he said.
On this occasion, Fikom Untar also presented awards to outstanding students in non-academic fields, namely Yuning Novita Sari, who achieved success in taekwondo, and Muhammad Lampard Affandi in karate.

Another highlight was the launch of the National Conference on Humanist Communication (KNKH) book titled The Future of Public Communication (Opportunities and Challenges), collaboratively written by Fikom Untar lecturers Sisca Aulia, Gregorius Genep Sukendro, and Wulan Purnama Sari, together with lecturers from other universities.
In addition, the event also served as a moment of appreciation for Fikom Untar lecturers who recently earned their doctoral degrees, namely Dr. Farid, S.S., M.Si. and Dr. Budi Utami, S.Sos., M.Si.
The 19th Anniversary celebration was also attended by representatives of faculty-level organizations, including the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Fikom Untar, the Student Representative Council (DPM) of Fikom Untar, Oranye (journalism division), PRO (public relations division), Creadzy (advertising division), TV Fikom (film division), and iFocus (photography division). The festive atmosphere was further enlivened by performances from Fikom students—Kenrick Bartomeus Immanuel, Gabriella, Daniel, as well as a modern dance group.

Beyond celebrating the faculty’s anniversary, the event was also intended as a gathering platform for lecturers, alumni, and active students of Fikom Untar. At the age of 19, Fikom Untar remains committed to moving forward through collaboration, innovation, and the pursuit of international accreditation in order to strengthen its reputation in both academic and professional spheres.
