One day after the vibrant celebration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, the spirit of nationalism was once again reinforced through the commemoration of National Constitution Day on August 18. For Untar students and the academic community, this moment served as a reminder that the spirit of independence does not end with ceremonies alone but must be continued through achievements, innovation, and upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, and entrepreneurship.
National Constitution Day is commemorated to remember the ratification of the 1945 Constitution by the Preparatory Committee for Indonesian Independence (PPKI) on August 18, 1945, a day after the proclamation. This constitution became the main foundation of the nation’s journey in maintaining unity while directing national development. Through Presidential Decree No. 18 of 2008, August 18 was officially designated as the Constitution Day of the Republic of Indonesia, ensuring that every generation remembers the importance of the nation’s legal foundation and noble ideals.
In his address during the Independence Day ceremony (17/8/2025), Untar Rector Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro reminded new students to emulate the spirit of the heroes by contributing to independence through achievements and service. “Independence is not the ultimate goal, but the beginning of the struggle to build a dignified, excellent, and competitive nation,” he emphasized.
Through this momentum, Untar expressed its hope that its students will grow into individuals who excel in achievements, are creative in innovation, and steadfast in upholding constitutional values. In this way, the spirit of independence is carried forward alongside efforts to safeguard the pillars of national life and statehood.
