The second session was delivered by Prof. Yun-Chia Liang, Ph.D. from Yuan Ze University, Taiwan. Carrying the theme “AI and Sustainability,” Prof. Liang explained that AI has now permeated nearly every aspect of life—from curriculum development and machine operation to public services. According to him, universities have great potential to become pioneers in integrating AI with existing technologies to make them more efficient and environmentally friendly. “One example is the use of chatbots for campus administrative services. Such automation can reduce paper usage, lower emissions, and improve operational efficiency,” he explained.
The third presentation was delivered by Ir. Emelia Sari, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. from Trisakti University, who presented on the theme “Sustainable Manufacturing.” In her talk, she emphasized that the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle are the foundational pillars of building a sustainable way of life. “Achieving an environmentally friendly lifestyle cannot be done by a single party. The entire community—from industry and academia to the general public—must be actively involved,” she stated.
