In the plenary session, Dr. Mery Citra Sondari, S.E., M.Si. from Padjadjaran University discussed the vital role of technological convergence in advancing women’s empowerment. She emphasized that technology and gender equality are two fundamental pillars in building a sustainable and inclusive society.
“Technology becomes a beneficial and empowering tool when applied impartially to both men and women,” she stated. “Gender equality is a fundamental human right. It is not something that can be achieved instantly, but rather through a continuous and comprehensive process,” she added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Frangky Selamat, S.E., M.M. from Untar highlighted the importance of the role of MSMEs and entrepreneurship as a strategic pathway for women’s empowerment.
“Entrepreneurship serves as a strategic platform for women to enhance their independence. This, in turn, directly contributes to more inclusive development and economic growth,” he explained. “The normative, cognitive, and regulative dimensions are key in empowering women through micro-entrepreneurship. Supportive regulations will open up opportunities and provide equal chances for women who wish to start their own businesses,” he added.
