The Faculty of Communication at Tarumanagara University (FIKom Untar) once again held its annual event titled Communication Week 2025, which took place from June 1 to 8, 2025, across various locations. One of the featured events was Arunika Fest: “Navigating the Diversity of the Archipelago”. This event served as a meeting point for communication, creativity, and culture, while also highlighting the important role of the younger generation in preserving Indonesia’s rich traditional heritage.

Arunika Fest 2025 will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Gandaria City Mall, Jakarta. Embracing the concept of an interactive cultural festival, the event invites artists and art enthusiasts to participate in the Nusantara Creative Dance Competition and the Traditional Games Competition. Visitors will also be treated to a variety of traditional dance performances, regional culinary delights, and folk games—presented in a modern, educational, and inclusive format.

In an effort to strengthen its social and cultural impact, Arunika Fest 2025 collaborates with several strategic partners committed to preserving Indonesia’s national heritage. These partners include Sanggar Ayodyapala, a community dedicated to safeguarding traditional Nusantara arts; the Jakarta Department of Culture; the South Jakarta Sub-department of Culture; and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, which has officially expressed its support for the event. As a tangible form of this support, the Vice Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, S.I.Kom., is scheduled to attend and deliver the opening remarks at Arunika Fest 2025. He expressed his appreciation for the active role students play in preserving cultural heritage.

“We deeply appreciate FIKom Untar’s consistent efforts in highlighting local cultural values through creative formats. The Ministry of Culture is ready to fully support and be present at Arunika 2025 as a symbol of cross-sector collaboration to advance Indonesian culture,” said Vice Minister Giring Ganesha.

Communication Week is the final project output of the Communication Program Implementation course, which is also one of the flagship courses of the Faculty of Communication at Tarumanagara University.

The Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Dr. Riris Loisa, M.Si., stated, “Commweek is a direct outcome of coursework at FIKom, particularly in the Bachelor of Communication Studies program. Our undergraduate program is accredited as ‘Excellent,’ and we also offer a Master’s Program in Communication Studies. FIKom is open to Tri Dharma collaborations, including the organization of events like Commweek.”

Arunika Fest 2025 stands as a tangible testament to the synergy between academia, art communities, and government institutions in fostering collaborative spaces committed to preserving the nation’s noble cultural values. Amid the vibrancy of urban life, Arunika Fest invites the public to reconnect with the cultural roots of the archipelago and celebrate them together. (Arunika Fest)
