Tarumanagara University (Untar) held a Capital Market Investment Seminar & Competition themed “Smart Investing in The Digital Era: Beyond Profit, Toward Purpose” in the Auditorium Room, Untar Campus I, on Friday, May 16, 2025. This event, part of the 66th Anniversary celebrations of the Tarumanagara Foundation, was attended by participants from various campuses as well as renowned speakers in the field of investment.

Untar Rector Prof. Dr. H. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., in his speech, emphasized Untar’s commitment to equipping students not only with academic knowledge but also with essential soft skills such as financial management.

“This event is not just an academic activity, but a tangible expression of Untar’s commitment to shaping a financially literate, critical, and digitally-ready young generation,” he stated.

The Chair of the Organizing Committee, who is also the Head of the Undergraduate Management Study Program at FEB Untar, Dr. Frangky Selamat, S.E., M.M., explained that the event consists of three parts: an opening seminar, an online stock trading simulation (from May 16 to May 30, 2025), and the closing ceremony along with the awards presentation on June 2, 2025.

“We recorded a total of 278 participants in this event. We hope this activity can enhance participants’ capital market literacy as well as their investment analysis skills,” he said.

The main speakers at the opening event were Panji Pratama Rusli from the Investment Community of Stockbit, who introduced the modern investment apps Stockbit and Bibit, and Kevin Billy, Founder of Diskusi Investasi, who presented on fundamental and technical analysis strategies in investing. Both emphasized that investing is not something to be feared but is something anyone can learn.

Queen Bilqis, a student from FEB Untar, shared that the seminar was very helpful for her. “I was previously quite unfamiliar with investment, but after listening to the speakers’ explanations, I now understand better and am no longer afraid to try,” she said.

This event reflects Untar’s commitment to continuously providing personal development opportunities for students. Through activities like this, Untar encourages students to become increasingly prepared to face global challenges—not only through theory but also through practical experience and real skills.
