The Faculty of Economics and Business at Tarumanagara University (FEB Untar) held a public lecture titled “Financial Analysis for Start-Up Business” on Thursday, May 8, 2025, conducted online.

Through this event, students were encouraged to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of financial management in building a business.

As the speaker, Susanto Salim, S.E., M.M., Ak., C.A., CPA., CPMA., ACPA., a lecturer in Accounting at FEB Untar and a financial practitioner, discussed various crucial aspects of financial analysis for start-up businesses. He covered topics ranging from the basic philosophy in business, resource cycles, profit concepts, Break Even Point (BEP) analysis, to investment valuation methods.

The material he presented was not only theoretical but also practical, based on his experience as a consultant for various small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

“Financial analysis is a crucial foundation in starting a business. Without basic understanding of concepts like BEP, profit, and investment valuation, it will be difficult to assess whether the business can run well and generate profit,” he said.

The public lecture was also attended by the Head of the Bachelor of Management Program, Dr. Frangky Selamat, S.E., M.M., and the Secretary I of the Bachelor of Management Program, Dr. Lydiawati Soelaiman, S.T., M.M.

Lydiawati encouraged the students not only to absorb knowledge but also to build the courage to become entrepreneurs.

“The program hopes that all of you today can listen attentively to the material that will be presented by the speaker. I hope that in the future, you will be able to create your own job opportunities and build your own business,” she said in her opening remarks.

This public lecture serves as a concrete example of how Untar continues to strive to provide understanding, knowledge, theory, and valuable experiences from professors and experts in their fields.
