Tarumanagara University (Untar) made a media visit to the Media Indonesia office located in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Thursday, May 8, 2025. This activity is part of the effort to strengthen the synergy between higher education institutions and the media industry in supporting the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.
The Untar delegation was warmly welcomed by the President Director of Media Indonesia, Gaudensius Suhardi, in the Media Indonesia newsroom. The visit was attended by the Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., who emphasized the important role of the media in supporting the growth and existence of higher education institutions through publication and information dissemination to the wider public.
“This is expected to help universities progress and develop, one of which is through media publications,” said the Rector of Untar.
The visit of Untar to Media Indonesia was not just a courtesy call but also a moment to introduce the new university leadership. The Rector of Untar emphasized that building strong relationships with the media is a crucial step for the university’s wider development. It is hoped that future collaborations will emerge, such as the presence of practitioners from Media Indonesia as lecturers or opportunities for further studies for MI employees at Untar.

Also joining the visit were the Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Dr. Riris Loisa, M.Si.; Head of the Institute for Cooperation and International Relations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hugeng, S.T., M.T. (SMIEEE), I.P.U.; Head of the Public Relations and Multimedia Office, Rolen, S.E., M.M.; Public Relations Manager, Dr. Yugih Setyanto, S.Sos., M.Si.; Multimedia Manager, Ahmad Junaidi, S.S., M.Si.; and Public Relations and Multimedia Staff, Jessica Stefanus, S.I.Kom.
On the Media Indonesia side, the delegation was joined by the Director of Business and Development, G. Bernhard Rotinsulu, and the Assistant to the President Director for Business and Editorial Affairs, Teguh Nirwahjudi.
Through this visit, Untar and Media Indonesia hope to establish various forms of strategic collaboration, such as student internship programs, journalism training specifically related to the Faculty of Communication (Fikom) at Untar, and strengthening institutional communication.
This collaboration is expected to have a positive impact, not only for both institutions but also for the development of education and the media industry in Indonesia. (VC/YS/AJ)
