The Faculty of Law at Tarumanagara University (FH Untar) officially opened the series of the 2025 Supreme Court Mediation Competition through an Opening & Seminar event themed “Optimizing Mediation as a Business Dispute Resolution Instrument in Indonesia” on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Building M, 8th Floor, Untar Campus I.
This event marks the continuation of the strategic collaboration between FH Untar and the Supreme Court (MA) that has been established since 2018. The mediation competition will take place over three days, concluding on Saturday, May 10, 2025, with 12 delegate teams from various universities across Indonesia competing in person.

Two key speakers participated in the opening seminar, namely academic and legal practitioner Dr. R.M. Gatot P. Soemartono, S.E., S.H., M.M., LL.M., Ph.D., and Supreme Court Judge Dr. H. Edi Hudiata, Lc., M.H. They discussed the opportunities and urgency of mediation as an effective and fair mechanism for resolving business disputes.
In his opening remarks, the Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. H. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., expressed his appreciation for the established synergy. “I would like to thank the Supreme Court and FH Untar for the continued collaboration. Welcome and good luck to the delegations from various universities,” he said.
Through this competition and seminar, FH Untar reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the legal capacity of the younger generation and promoting the use of mediation as a constructive dispute resolution pathway amidst the dynamics of Indonesia’s business world.
