The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Untar held Research Week 2024, carrying the theme “Towards International Collaboration in Research and Community Service Based on the SDGs and Sustainable Innovation.” The event took place at the Auditorium of Campus I Untar on Monday (18/11/2024).
First launched in 2009, this annual event serves as an appreciation platform for lecturers who contribute innovative solutions and positive impacts toward sustainable development. The program aims to enhance lecturers’ performance in research, scholarly publications, and community service activities.
Awards were presented to lecturers who, either individually or as part of a team, secured internal or external research grants, obtained patents and intellectual property rights, or produced works that strengthened Untar’s reputation at both national and international levels. Recognition was also given for publications in international journals indexed by Scopus, Web of Science, EBSCO, Copernicus, and DOAJ, as well as nationally accredited SINTA journals.
Chair of LPPM, Ir. Jap Tji Beng, MMSI., M.Psi., Ph.D., P.E., M.ASCE, stated that Research Week 2024 is expected to strengthen international collaboration in advancing the quality of education and research at Untar.
“The 15th Research Week is being held in conjunction with Untar’s 65th anniversary celebration, while continuing our commitment to becoming a World Class University (WCU) that focuses on sustainability and contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These awards recognize lecturers who have produced outstanding scientific works and publications,” he explained.
Rector of Untar, Prof. Dr. Amad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., M.M., emphasized that the event serves as a form of appreciation and recognition for Untar lecturers who have contributed significantly through scientific publications, research, and community service.
“Untar remains committed to supporting the advancement of lecturers’ research and publications at both the national and international levels,” he said during the opening ceremony.
As in previous years, the 15th Research Week allocated incentive funding totaling billions of rupiah. The event also recorded a significant increase in scholarly output, with 2,985 works passing the selection process out of 3,355 registered submissions, compared to 2,320 works in the previous year.
In addition to the awards presentation, the event featured a virtual poster exhibition showcasing research and community service projects funded through various internal and external grant schemes.
Attended by Chairman of the Tarumanagara Foundation Board, Prof. Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., along with members of the academic community, Research Week 2024 demonstrated Untar’s commitment to fostering innovation, global collaboration, and meaningful contributions to society and sustainable development.
