Untar received a 4-Star award from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Rating. The award was given by QS CEO Jessica Turner to Rector of Untar Prof. Dr. Ir. Agustinus Purna Irawan, M.T., M.M., I.P.U., A.E. during the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which was held on November 7-9, 2023.
The four-star rating signifies that Untar is “Rated for Excellence”. In 2019, Untar received a three-star rating, and increased in 2023.
The rating is obtained from the assessment of several indicators, including teaching, internationalization, facilities, arts and culture, alumni work readiness, academic development, accounting and finance, and openness/inclusiveness.
Untar received the highest assessment or five-star rating in the category of alumni work readiness (employability) and openness/inclusiveness.
Rector said this achievement is the result of collaboration and synergy built between the Tarumanagara Foundation leadership, lecturers, education staff, students, alumni, and all Untar partners.
“This four-star QS Rating award shows that Untar has been managed well and with quality, so that Untar’s performance is appreciated by external parties, especially from QS,” said Rector.
Furthermore, Rector said that Untar is committed to continuously improve the quality of management and produce various performance achievements. This is done so that Untar’s reputation will increase and gain trust from all stakeholders, both at home and abroad.
QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2023 is a conference that facilitates discussions to improve the quality of higher education. The conference was attended by various top universities in the Asia Pacific region.
QS CEO Jessica Turner in the opening emphasized the importance of higher education quality in maintaining the environment for sustainability.
Untar received many congratulations on this award from Untar’s partners both from within and outside the country who attended the QS Summit at KLCC Kuala Lumpur. In addition, Untar also added partners from various countries who attended the event.
Awards were also given to various excellent universities in Indonesia. Untar was the only private university out of 15 universities in Indonesia that received a four-star award. On this occasion, awards were also given to Indonesian universities that successfully obtained three stars from QS Rating.
QS Stars University Rating is a world university rating system that assesses educational institutions as a whole. Ratings that are arranged according to indicators can be a reference for prospective students in choosing a university according to their interests and university excellence. (AW/PA/KJ)
