Master of Civil Engineering program held a public lecturing session for construction engineering course.  The main speaker of this “Precast/Prestressed Concrete Systems at Seismic Prone Area in Indonesia” session was Sugeng Wijanto, Ph.D., P.Eng (Director of PT Gistama Intisemesta) at the Main Building of Universitas Tarumanagara (UNTAR).

In this event, he explained about the benefit of precast/prestressed concrete systems at the construction projects for shortening the lead time, minimizing costs, optimizing the infrastructure height and controlling the quality of the projects.  He also told about the challenge to move those big items to the project area.

The program hopes that students could obtain as much as possible knowledge and skills from the practitioner because precast/prestressed concrete system is one of the fast-growing methods in construction projects nowadays.  (RA)
