October 12 is an important day for scholars, practitioners and academics in the fields of communication, especially those ruled by the Communications Association of Indonesia (ISKI). October 12 is the date that has been set as the National Communications Day (Harkomnas). This year, the organization Harkomnas held in the city of Makassar. The celebration is assembled in various forms of activity that lasted for three days, from May 11 to October 13, 2016.
The main event of the implementation of Harkomnas centered at the National Conference of Communication (KNK) that this time the theme “Communications Intelligence, Life Feeding the Nation”. This theme was chosen with the aim to make space for ideas and research results in the field of communications which assist in solving various problems of the nation. In addition, the implementation of Hakornas also filled with a variety of other activities such as the Great Teachers Forum, where communications professor gives his views on various current issues; Media Forum that will present the broadcast media industry players; training of writing as well as Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), etc.
During the event, the participants in turn perpetuated by compiling a finger as to form the letter “K”. The composition of the three fingers to the format of the letter K has indeed been agreed upon as a symbol of “Communications Greeting”, especially for scholars, practitioners and academics communication incorporated in ISKI. This grand event skippered by Donny de Keizer, as Chairman of the Committee Harkomnas 2016. Donny de Keizer, is the coordinator of the courses Event Organizer at the Faculty of Communication Tarumanagara University (FIKom Untar). In the celebration was also attended by Acting Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences Untar, Dr. Riris Loisa, who is also a board M.Si ISKI. (RL)
