Tarumanagara Foundation appointed Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan as Rector of Tarumanagara University (Untar) for the 2016-2020 period, Thursday (1/9) at the Auditorium of the main building of Untar Campus. The inauguration was attended by Trustees, the Board of Tarumanagara Foundation, the Chairman of Coordinator Private University (Kopertis) III Dr. Illah Sailah and Muspida DKI. The Dean of the Faculty of engineering Untar appointed Rector after going through the selection carried out earlier.   Tarumanagara Foundation Trustees who is also the Chairman of the Committee for the selection of the Rector of Tarumanagara Universityy, Dr. Ariawan Gunadi S.H., M.H. said that the process of Rectors election went smoothly, safe and conducive, in line with the performance of the committee that is transparent and accountable.  This process starts from the Rector, networking assessment service wrote several stages performed and got the University Senate meeting consideration of Tarumanagara who is ultimately decided by the governing of Tarumanagara Foundation In his speech the Rector Untar Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan will attempt to introduce Untar as University which has a contribution in the world of education in Indonesia.  In addition, He will encourage Untar in order to produce academic works that can instantly bring benefits to society at large.  “Untar can have the potential to become one of the best university in the country,” he said. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Foundation Board Tarumanagara Tarumanagara Dr. Gunardi said that the Foundation has had a Grand Design Strategy which has included programs of the foundation and foundation business unit. All that will be measured in the balance scorecard and owned by the Foundation. All of which will be running by the Foundation and the rector as well as social and business units Foundation Tarumanagara Tarumanagara Foundation currently continues to develop various real programs through the development of teaching hospital on the campus of the Tarumanagara University, the establishment of the Institute for Health and development area. In the end, the goal should be a synergy so that the slogan “pride of top Excellence” may be real in Indonesia serve the community through the utilization of the resources of the University and the infrastructure of the Tarumanagara Foundation. Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan, who was born on 28th of August, 1971 at Mataram is the youngest professor from Untar. Got a Bachelor of Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Gadjah Mada. Master degree in Mechanical achieved cum laude from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Indonesia and graduated Doctor Degree in the same place. He also won the first rank best lecturer on Kopertis Region III Jakarta program. Other positions currently held by Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan is the Manager of Intellectual Property Rights (HKI) Untar. (LH / YS)
