The 20th Mediation Training and Education was conducted from May 30 until June 4, 2016 at the Faculty of Law, Tarumanagara University with a total of 24 participants. During this event, the Faculty of Law cooperated with the Ministry of Trade, Republic of Indonesia. Dr. Ahmad Sudiro, S.H., M.H., M.M. as the Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Susanti Adi Nugroho, S.H., M.H. as the Indonesian Mediation Board (Badan Mediasi Indonesia – BAMI) prepared a speech in the opening ceremony. Mrs. Ganef Judawati, as Director of Consumer Empowering, also delivered a brief session about the role of the Board of Consumer Dispute Settlement (Badan Penyelesaian Sengketa Konsumen – BPSK).
Sessions were guided by prominent speakers who are affilliated to the mediation organisation, such as the Indonesian
Mediation Board (Badan Mediasi Indonesia – BAMI), The Indonesia Mediation Centre (Pusat Mediasi Nasional – PMN), as well as mediator training instructors. Sunarsih La Rangka, S.H., M.H., Gunardi S.H., M.H., Drs. Teddy Nurcahyawan, S.H., M.A., Yuwono Priyanto, S.H., M.H., and Christine Kansil, S.H., M.H were the main speakers.

Pangaribuan S.H., Paimin, Ahmad Hariyanto, Rohani and Ade Yuwono, S.Sn. were involved in the organizing committe. This week of training was quite useful for individuals who would like to become a competent mediator. The Faculty of Law conducts this event twice a year. The aim of this program is to introduce mediation and its benefits inter alia comprehending alternative dispute resolutions, the types of mediation, the role of a mediator and the application of mediation in practice.
