Pancasila Sanctity Day has been commemorated every October 1 since 1965, marking the resilience of Pancasila in the face of various threats and challenges to the nation’s ideology. The annual observance reaffirms Pancasila as the ideological foundation of Indonesia that must be preserved and upheld. At the same time, Pancasila continues to play a vital role in uniting the nation and safeguarding the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

This year, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) introduced the theme for Pancasila Sanctity Day: “Together with Pancasila, We Realize Golden Indonesia.” By internalizing the values of Pancasila as the foundation of the state, university students can actively contribute to creating a harmonious, tolerant, and just society. Through concrete actions, students not only honor the nation’s ideological heritage but also become a generation capable of facing future challenges while upholding the principles of Pancasila.

1. Belief in the One and Only God
Every Indonesian citizen has the right and freedom to choose and practice their religious beliefs. Students can demonstrate this value by respecting religious diversity and fostering tolerance among individuals of different faiths.

2. Just and Civilized Humanity
As rational and ethical individuals, students are expected to uphold humanitarian values and treat others fairly and respectfully. Practicing empathy, compassion, and mutual respect reflects the essence of this principle.

3. The Unity of Indonesia
Within a multicultural campus environment, students can serve as role models by interacting positively with people from diverse backgrounds, respecting differences, and promoting harmony. This principle encourages all members of society to uphold the spirit of unity and solidarity amid diversity.

4. Democracy Guided by the Inner Wisdom of Deliberation Among Representatives
By prioritizing deliberation and consensus as methods of resolving issues, students can actively participate in organizations and campus activities that emphasize dialogue and collective decision-making. As members of a democratic society, students are encouraged to appreciate democratic processes and the value of consultation.

5. Social Justice for All Indonesian People
Through active involvement in social initiatives, such as fundraising for humanitarian causes or community outreach programs, students can contribute to the realization of social justice. These efforts demonstrate a commitment to improving the welfare of society and supporting those in need.

By implementing Pancasila values in their daily lives, students can become agents of change who embody these principles in every action they take. In doing so, they contribute not only to their personal development but also to the advancement of a more inclusive, harmonious, and prosperous Indonesia. (VC/YS/VC)
