Having the right combination of both academic and non-academic capability is very important for students. Besides academic achievements, non-academic achievements are just as important for the student’s future endeavors. Untar highly supports students’ activities that can boost their potential and ability.
“Learning to manage an event and collaborating with multiple parties are a great way to increase your non-academic ability,” says the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan, accompanied by the Vice-Rector, Dr. R.M Gatot P. Soemartono, S.H., S.E., M.M., LL.M., while meeting with the Tarumanagara University Choir (PSUT) team that competes in the 6th Satya Dharma Gita National Choir Festival on August 23-27 in Semarang. This national choir competition is held by the Law Faculty of Diponegoro University Semarang.
The Rector says that joining a competition isn’t just about winning, but also another important thing is about building the network and learning to take on responsibilities. Any achievement will be a tremendous contribution not only to Untar but also to Indonesia. “No matter where you are, never forget to always uphold Untar’s values, which are – integrity, professionalism, and entrepreneurship,” states the Rector.
The Director of Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Adianto., M.Sc told the Rector that the Untar Choir team is going to compete in two categories, which are religious music and mix choir. Therefore, this team had spent countless hours preparing for the competition and asked for a blessing from the university management so that they may give the best performance.
Tarumanagara University Choir (PSUT) is a students activity unit that Untar took pride in. They do not only receive numbers of achievement on the national level, but they also succeeded in bringing pride to our country and Untar when they won the 1st Prize Gold Diploma on the 8th Isola Del Sole Choir Festival and Competition in Grado, Italy.
The Head of the Tarumanagara University Choir, Angeline Indraini, on behalf of her teammates, expressed her gratitude towards the university management that had always been supportive of all PSUT’s activities.
