The education of entrepreneurship at Universitas Tarumanagara has been implemented in a concrete action through the Entrepreneur Week. The event, with the purpose of stimulating the entrepreneur spirit, is an event held every semester and has become a part of entrepreneurship concentration in the Management program of Universitas Tarumanagara Faculty of Economics. The event was also supported by the Faculty of Visual Art and Design and the Faculty of Information Technology.
“Universitas Tarumanagara, with its strong entrepreneurship character, should create entrepreneurs who are able to open employment for the society,” states the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan, while delivering his opening speech at the 10th Entrepreneur Week, on Friday (10/11). The event was held from 10-12 November 2017 at the Main Atrium of Baywalk Mall, where the students conduct several activities, such as opening an exhibition stand to enhance their entrepreneurial skills.
As delivered by the Rector, this event is an effort to solve the issue faced by the government, which is the high rate of unemployment, by creating new jobs in the society. “This is a form of implementation of the theories taught in Universitas Tarumanagara, which could benefit the society,” emphasizes the Rector.
Entrepreneur Week is an event of Universitas Tarumanagara to give the exposure to the students in doing business, presenting the products and also selling the products innovated by the students. Through this event, the students are able to implement the concept of entrepreneurship, presenting their business prototype to the consumers and conducting the simulation in the real business world.
