Harto Tanujaya, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. formally officiates the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Untar for the 2017-2021 period. The inauguration and the office handover ceremony (sertijab) was carried out by the previous Dean of the faculty, Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan, who now is the Rector of Untar, at the auditorium of the Architecture Department building on Monday (31/7).

Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan hopes that the current Dean of the Faculty could maintain, or even exceed all of the Faculty’s previous achievements. “The research that has been produced by the Faculty of Engineering can set an example to the other faculties,” says the Rector. Moreover, with the rapid development of technologies, global insights are required to seize future opportunities.
Chairman of the Board of Director of Tarumanagara Foundation Dr. Gunardi S.H., M.H., who attended and witnessed the handover, states that in order for a university to thrive, it is required to keep up with the latest technologies, especially information technology. In addition, he emphasizes the importance of transparency, should we desire to be classified as a world-class university.
The inauguration and the handover ceremony was also attended by the Secretary of the Tarumanagara Foundation Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, the Vice-Rector Dr. Gatot P. Soemartono, Head of University Secretariat Mr. Rasji, the directors of Untar, and deans of each faculty. Harto Tanujaya S.T., M.T., Ph.D. is an alumnus of the Faculty of Engineering of Untar, majoring in mechanical engineering, who pursued a Master’s degree of the same study at University of Indonesia (UI), and a Ph.D. at the Mechanical Science Osaka University. He was elected as the Dean of the Faculty through a series of rigorous process with transparency. (GS/Nat/L)
