Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar) becomes the host of International Mandarin Language Assessment on Sunday (19/3). The assessment was held by the HSK Indonesian Assessment National Committee and joined by hundreds of participants from all levels. HSK stands for Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or Mandarin Proficiency Level Assessment, similar to TOEFL test in English proficiency. This event is a form of collaboration between The Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture Affair, China Government and Mandarin Language Coordinating Body.
The Head Founder of Tarumanagara Foundation, The Ning King, The Cultural Counselor of China Embassy, Mr. Zhou Bin and the Director of Special Training and Early Children Education and Society Education General Directorate, Dr. Yusuf Muhyiddin observed the assessment at Untar. Rector of Untar, Prof. Agustinus Purna Irawan, Vice Rector, Dr. Gatot P. Soemartono, the Head Trustee of Tarumanagara Foundation and the Secretary of the Foundation, Dr. Ariawan Gunadi also attended the assessment.
Dr. Yusuf Muhyiddin, in his speech, told the participants that this examination could improve their language proficiency. He said that Mandarin Language Proficiency is highly beneficial for those willing to continue their study or having other purposes. This International Mandarin Proficiency Assessment is the second time to be held at Untar. The students of Untar were also involved in assisting the main committee to run the assessment. (PA)
