The studying process on Bachelor of Medicine program lasts for seven semesters which consists of two phases, which are basic medical science and clinical science. Basic medical science purpose is to give basic medical knowledge and skills for two semesters, while clinical science purpose is to teach about basic function of human body, how human contracts diseases, various diseases, and how to treat it both on society also individually with the principles of promotive, prevention, and curative.
The competencies the students need to achieve is divided into 21 blocks which is named according to basic medical science and basic human body function. Each semester consists of three blocks, and each blocks lasts for six to seven weeks. Every block consists of one to three educational modules.
The twenty one blocks in the Faculty of Medicine of Tarumanagara University is :

Other than the 21 blocks, the students are also required to compose a research proposal and conduct a research to form his/her thesis. Students are declared a bachelor of medicine, if he/she has finished and passed all 21 blocks and also passed the thesis trial. To continue to Doctor Profession program, the students has to pass a Local OSCE.
