As an institution that is committed to taking part in the education sector, private universities have to collaborate with each other for the improvement of Indonesia’s education. The collaboration could result in a mutual benefit and improvement of each university.
The statement was delivered by the Rector Prof. Dr. Agustinus Purna Irawan during a halal bihalal event of the directors of the Association of Indonesian Private Universities of DKI Jakarta III Region on Monday (24/7) at Untar Campus. Untar Campus was the venue for the halal bihalal event of the Association of Indonesian Private Universities DKI Jakarta III Region which was attended by the Chairman of the Association, Prof. Dr. H. Suyatno, M.Pd., together with the Board of Directors and the Chairman of Untar.
According to him, one of the things that need to be achieved together is the development of human resources. “The competency of lecturers is the challenge faced by universities these days,” he stated. As an educational institution which is located in Jakarta, Untar is inclined to assist the Association of Indonesian Private Universities for the improvement of private universities in Jakarta through its programmes.
In his welcome speech, the Secretary of the Tarumanagara Foundation, Dr. Ariawan Gunadi, S.H., M.H., emphasizes on the role of the Association in solving the internal conflicts within universities. Besides that, he also invited other private universities to be aware of the bullying which is happening on campus, as well as reassuring Untar’s support for the programmes of the Association of Indonesian Private Universities.
