The process of accreditation needs to be conducted, so that the society, graduates, and parents of students can receive an accurate information regarding the quality of a university. To reach that standard, the accreditation process shall be performed objectively, so that the result will be trusted by the society.
The statement was delivered by the assessor of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) Dr. Ir. Berkah Fajar Kiono of Universitas Diponegoro during his visit on Monday (4/9) to the Bachelor Program (S-1) of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. He comes along with Dr. Ing. Ir. Wahyu Hariadi Piarah, M.S.M.E. of Universitas Hassanudin where both are welcome by the Rector at the executive lounge of Untar Campus I.
“Accreditation can stimulate universities to be better,” reiterates Dr. Kiono. Meanwhile, the Rector, Prof. Agustinus Purna Irawan, states that accreditation is very important to assess what has been done by the faculty. “The Academicians of Untar have always been supporting the accreditation process in the study program, so as to obtain the best results,” he emphasizes.
The Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Harto Tanujaya, S.T, M.T., Ph.D., when welcoming the assessors, hopes that the accreditation should be able to improve the quality of the study in mechanical engineering. The welcoming session was attended by the university management, students, and staffs of Untar. The agenda for the day visit includes data verification of the report and the actuality at Untar.
